Have you ever wished you could hit the reset button on life? Maybe you bombed a test, lost a friendship, or felt stuck in the same old routine. We’ve all been there. Sometimes, it feels like nothing ever changes, and we wonder if we’re just stuck where we are. But what if God is already working on something new in your life—even if you can’t see it yet? Letting Go of the Past In Isaiah 43:18-19, God speaks to His people and says: "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland." God had done incredible things for Israel in the past—He parted the Red Sea and rescued them from slavery. But He tells them not to get stuck in the past because He is doing something new. That’s huge! God isn’t just the God of the past; He’s the God of right now and the future. God’s New Thing in Your Life It’s easy to focus on what’s gone wrong, but God is working even when we don’t see it. Maybe you’ve been praying for something and feel like nothing is happening. Maybe you’ve been trying to change, but you keep falling back into old habits. God says, “I’m making a way in the wilderness.” In other words, He’s creating a path where you thought there wasn’t one. What Does This Mean for You?
Challenge: Can You See It? This week, take a moment each day to ask: “God, what new thing are You doing in my life?” It might be small, but God is always at work. You don’t have to stay stuck in the past. God is doing something new--are you ready to see it? AuthorJosh has been on staff at Lesmurdie Baptist Church since 2018.
