Open your newsfeed and you’ll see it: accusations, counter-accusations, images of suffering, debates about who’s right and who’s wrong. Even if we don’t live in the places torn by awful human decisions, the noise comes right into our homes through our tv's and devices. It’s easy to get overwhelmed. It’s easy to pick a side and harden our hearts. It’s tempting to dehumanize people we’ve never met.
But Jesus gives us another way. He said: “Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you” (Matthew 5:44). He blessed the peacemakers (Matthew 5:9). He told us the weightier matters of life are “justice, mercy, and faithfulness” (Matthew 23:23). That isn’t just about world leaders and global wars—it’s about us. Every time we open our mouths, post online, or sit at a family table, we choose whether to mirror the division of the world or reflect the love of Christ. Everyday Application
These are small battles, but they matter. Because Jesus’ kingdom doesn’t spread through revenge or argument—it spreads through love, truth, and mercy, lived out daily. A Prayer for Today “Lord Jesus, the world feels so divided. Help me not to add to the noise of hate, but to become a person of peace. Teach me to love my enemies, speak truth with grace, and show mercy in my everyday life. Amen.”
