Jesus as Friend

​When people think of Jesus they may think historical figure, mighty king, mythical creation, or son of God. How many stop and think of him as friend?

This week I have been on Pastors Retreat where Pastors and Chaplains in the Baptist Churches of Western Australia Family gather once a year to be encouraged. We had Steve McCready from Riverview Church come and give four talks around the idea of friendship.
 
Steve pointed out that God revealed himself to humanity through friendship and it is a friendship that we get to experience when we follow Jesus.
 
It was helpful and encouraging to think of Jesus as friend because while many people who grow up in the church may see Jesus as King to be obeyed, they forget that he also friend to be enjoyed.
